Default Curb Appeal in the Winter

Curb appeal is an important thing to worry about when trying to sell your home. Most people think of how their yard will look in the summer and slack off when it comes to looks in winter. Its best not to do this when it comes to landscaping your yard for appeal.

When you decide to update your landscaping it is best to plant both warm and cold weather bloomers. Doing so will allow your yard to look good all through the year. There are a few types of plants you can incorporate into your landscaping to allow for this.

One plant is a witchhazel shrub. This plant blossoms in the late fall and winter months. It will produce different yellow, gold, red, and orange flowers that look similar to firecrackers. there is also a type of dogwood shrub called the Dogwood Arctic Fire. This plant has red branches in the winter. There is also the Japanese pier, winter jasmine, heathers, and some tyes of ornimental grasses all of which provide blooms and/or color to your yard in the winter.

You are so right. It is hard for people to envision the potential of a yard in the dead of winter so having it "dressed" in the winter months as well as the summer can make a big difference in the appeal they find with the house.
