Default Curb Appeal for a small or no yard.

There are many homes out there that have either a very small yard or no yard at all. You will need to figure out how to create some curb appeal if you want to sell it.

If you have a small yard you can landscape it by creating areas of plants and flowers that attract the eye to the home.

For the home with no yard you can create an attractive yard effect by using the area around the porch or on it.

My personal ideas for the porch aspect would also include a trellis with potted vines or climbing flowers. Doing this would still give you the desired look but also give you that close to nature feel that you want when you go out there to relax.

When I stayed in a house that had almost no yard at all,we made planter boxes out of wood and planted flowers in them and put them under the windows in the front of the house.

We also buried a five gallon bucket by the front door and put a little pump in it and created a little water feature there by the door for people to see when they come up.

The sound alone is relaxing and peaceful.

We have a small front yard, and what we did to dress it up was put up a redwood split rail fence and then put plants such as Ferns, Irises, and others near the wall of the house.

It looks very nice and is quite pretty when the Irises and Peonies bloom.

On the porch, I put one chair and then on the opposite side I put a long planter with grapes and vines in it, fake of course.

The door is painted a contrasting color and always has a wreath on it depending on the time of year it is.

Its all in the details and even though you have a small porch and front yard, there are a lot of things you can do to dress it up for Curb Appeal.

Small trees are really good for small yards,a few for security for the wildlife and then you can stake up some bird feeders and maybe you will get a few birds to come and visit from time to time.

For now yard at all,you can get all kinds of planters to put on the exterior of your home. You can put artificial plants or flowers in them or you can go for the real thing and get real plants to go in them.

These both add color and life to the exterior of the home, and they are not very expensive to do either.

People with small yards tend to overdo them. They put too many things in the yard because they like them but it makes the yard look cluttered, even smaller than it really is. Thats a big mistake. Less is more.
