If you have a friend that you know is tired of his or her funiture and has fallen in love with something that bores you trade it. This way you both end up with something you love.
I like to shop consignment shops and places like the Salvation Army or Good Will. Take in some off the stuff that you no longer use and get a reciept. Its good for taxes and the soul.
While your there take a peek around they usually have some neat things about. I went once and found a piggy bank exactly like the one I had as a child. I couldn't have found it in a store and was thrilled when I saw it. Really brought back some memories. The older style clothing that they have can be bought for cheap. It may not be in style to wear but some of it makes nice material for making pillows. Happy hunting.
