Default Time to start new plants for outdoors later.

Now is the time of year that I start my new houseplants for use outdoors this spring.

I have taken all of my plants and trimmed them and separated them and taken clippings to start in water so that when spring comes, I will have some very nice little plants that I can put in pots or start outdoors in my flower beds.

By starting them now, they have 3 months in which to develop a good root system and have a nice growth to them for use wherever you want.

Be sure to fertilize them when you first put them in their new pots. And, before you even pot your plants, be sure to wash all of the pots (if they have been previously used) in warm soapy water to which you have added a little bleach, rinse well, and allow to air dry.

This prevents any diseases from starting and rids the pots of any bug eggs that may be lingering from last season.

Oh yeah it is,time to start any vegies, herbs,or bulbs that you may want in your yard this summer.

Tomato seeds are ready to start indoors now, once they are bigger and the weather is warm you can move them outside, and they will grow nicely.

Bulbs you can go ahead and put in the ground and by late spring you should start to see your new plant growing, just remember anything that is a bulb, will spread every year,So put it where it has plenty of room to spread.

Herbs are ready to start indoors now, oregano, rosemary, tyme, garlic, and more. These are nice to have around the yard and house for tht matter. They are very aromatic and attractive to look at,and very usefull when cooking and fresh herbs are so much better than store bought ones.

Great reminder Flippinout & Troubles74. Thanks.

Recently saw a house for sale that had spot right outside the kitchen window for a herb garden. Just open the window and theres your herbs.
I don't know if you could get them any fresher than that.

Thought it added some charm and appeal, not to mention a function.

Hello there LouMatt and welcome to New House Flip.

You are so right, the herbs in that little garden couldnt possibly get much fresher and are a great addition to any meal.

The herb gardens placement is in such a handy location, and if I could do something like that I would, I suppose even a window box would suffice for this little garden if one needed to do so.

We went and purchased watermelon, pepper, radish and a variety of flower seeds to get them started in the house so that when the time comes we will have our garden going and going well.

I love being able to do that, I think it helps to make sure I have a better garden and get more from my plants every year.

I never understood why people wait instead of starting their gardens indoors unless there isnt enough room in the home somewhere.
