Default Thanksgiving Decorations

Here are some really great ideas for you and your family to make to help decorate your home for the Thanksgiving holiday without breaking your bank in the process.

Cornucopia- This is made simply by taking a basket of any size that will fit on your table nicely. Then line it with a festive cloth and then proceed to fill the basket with the foods of the season. Things like small pumpkins, apples, spices, squash and maybe even a few leaves just to add even more color. Then once the holiday is over these foods can be used to make a tasty fall lovers casserole.

A neat idea decoration idea for kids in the home is to have them make place cards to set on the table. This is done by placing a piece of construction paper that matches the holiday on the table, then by placing a hand on the paper and spreading out the fingers and tracing the hand.
Carefully cut out your "Turkey" then simply color the feathers (fingers) and add the needed names.

Here is a great idea to get some beautiful place mats for your table setting this holiday season. Collect some leaves of various colors from your yard, white construction paper, glue and clear contact paper. Lay out a piece of white construction paper then lay your collected leaves on the paper and position them to your liking.
Once you have each leaf in the position you like, lift them carefully and add a drop of glue to the back of each one and return to the desired position. Allow the glue a couple of minutes to dry.
Once the leaves are dry, cover both sides of the mat with the clear contact paper carefully to prevent wrinkles. These mats will wipe clean easily and are great to re-use.

Another neat idea for some holiday decorations is to create your own candle holders. Its not as hard as it sounds. Simple take a food item such as a tiny pumpkin, squash or an apple and cut a hole in it the size of your candle and there you go, a really festive and beautiful candle holder!
