recycled gift ideas
Dryer sheet flowers.
We all have dryer sheets (or at least I hope so), after we use them we usally just tend to throw them out.
Well here is a great idea to reuse those used dryer sheets, and this makes a great gift idea.
take 3 dryer sheets and fold length wise, like an acordian. Into about 1/2 inch to 1 inch strips.
Fold strip in half and slip top of pipe cleaner (green pipe cleaners) through and tightly twist pipe cleaner. The pipe cleaner becomes a stem.
pull layers aprart and watch the flowers bloom, Now add a few drops of perfume to center of flowers.
Then on a paint foam plate add a drop of paint and add a drop of water. Lightly brush the edges of the flowers in various colors.
Add to a vase and you have some beautiful flowers.
Uses for Dryer lint.
Dryer lint of course is highly flammable. Which makes it nice for those who have fireplaces, woodstoves or for those who love camping.
Save your dryer lint and stuff it into an empty paper towel roll or empty toilet paper roll. Fill the empty rolls and cover with a flammable material to make it look nice, pinch ends of tubes closed and here you have a great gift.
Dryer lint can also be made into clay and here is how to do it:
take 3 cups of lint ( torn into small pieces) and place it in a medium sauce pan, add 2 cups of water and slowly stir in 1 cup of flour. Then add a few drops of vegetable, stiring constantly. Cook over low heat until smooth and it all binds together. Pour onto waxed paper and allow to cool. Use clay to make desired item and allow to dry ( about 3-7 days) and decorat to finish.
Dryer lint can also be used in the bottem of plant pots, this allows water to drain but prevents dirt from being washed away.
