Default Painted Candles

Recently I went to a yard sale where I found a really nice pair of wall sconces for our bedroom. They match perfectly.

I didnt like the candles we put in there though. They were just plain white candles. I decided to dress them up a little bit by painting them.

Yeah I know it sounds weird, but it worked really well. Granted it is a little difficult to paint on wax, but believe me it can be done. Its one of those things that if there is a will there is a way,LOL.

Here are a couple of pictures that I took of the candles when I had finished them.

Personally I do believe that these came out rather nicely and of course the match the bedroom perfectly! Though be sure that the candles that you plan on painting wont be used for anything other than a decoration.

You never want to burn paint, and by painting a candle and then trying to lite it could be dangerous, so be sure its going to be for the purpose of decorating ONLY!

Of course you can also glue some glitter onto candles, buttons, flowers and so on to help add a bit of personal touch to a room.

I suggest that if you want to add candles to a room and you cant find any that perfectly match, dont settle for an almost match. Make them match with a bit of paint and patience and you will be surprised just how many comments you get on them!

You did a nice job on those!! I love to make and paint candles, sometimes when you make them you can add marbles or sea shells in the was and they turn out beautiful..
