Default Outdoor mobiles

Actually this is a picture of a windchime, but, what I was thinking was that this would make a lovely mobile to hang in a tree in one of your private seating areas.

Also, mobiles made of bluejays or cardinals would be a wonderful addition as a mobile in a tree.

I am for anything that brings peace and serenity to my world and thought that these mobiles added to trees in an outdoor seating area would bring both peace and serenity to the area.

That is a great idea. I would also imagine that a mobile like this would also attract nature which is also something that can be relaxing to watch.

We call them wind chimes around here in the south. They are made from all different types of materials from wood to metal to plastic and so on.

I have seen some that are three demensional when they turn in the wind and have moving pictures in them.

I have seen some that are made of glass and have little humming birds hanging from a nest.It was so adorable but expensive.

Hey, I havent seen any windchimes like the one with the nest and hummingbirds around here. I bet that is very pretty.

We have a lot of windchimes in stores around here but nothing like that. Will have to find a friend down south that I can send the money to to buy me one and mail it to me. You said it was expensive, how much?

If you haven't looked for mobiles and windchimes at Family Dollar then do so. They have some really cute ones. As a matter of fact they have a pretty good selection of outdoor stuff this year. I was actually suprised at the selection for such a small store. I don't know if they all carry the same stuff but I know the one closest to me has a lot of stuff like that.

They also have some really cute yard figurines. They have all different sizes of frogs, turtles, rabbits and so on. They are so cute. Great prices too.

Another thing that I had picked up is some of the solar lights that they sell. They aren't like the typical white lights. They have multi-colors like red, blue, yellow and green. They are really nice. Again- great prices. I picked up a four pack for $10. Can't beat that.

I haven't been to Dollar General recently but I bet they have stuff like that too. You just never know. These kinds of stores seem to be carrying a lot more things then they used to. They have a better variety now.

I havent been to Dollar General in a while either so the next time I am out I will definitely check out their windchimes.

Also, I have on occassion made my own from old ones that have seen better days. I just take fishing line to redo the chimes with and use beads etc to fill in pretties on the new chimes. In fact, I have actually come up with some pretty cute ones this way.

We have several wind chimes here and a hummingbird feeder. I love to sit out and watch the hummingbirds sit and drink. They are very pretty.

I love hummingbirds too. They are beautiful. The only thing is that when I am sitting on my porch and they come they tend to swoop and scare the crap out of me lol. Those little buggers are so fast!

Do you guys make your own food for the hummingbirds? I have for years but I have recently learned that food coloring isn't good for them so I have stopped using it. I had always colored the food red before because it is supposed to attract them but there is enough red color on the feeders to attract them. The food coloring really isn't necessary. And if it harms them there is certainly no necessity for that!

I make my hummingbird food using four parts water to one part sugar. It's really easy and they love it.

I have several humming bird feeders around my yard to attract them. They are beautiful to watch flying around and grabbing a drink every now and then.

For years I haven't used any food coloring in the feeders because when I heard that it was not healthy for them. I want to help wildlife not cause it harm.

I know how you feel about them buzzing ya Flip_it_fast, they do the same to me and it really can give ya quite the scare!! They are extremely fast and when they come at ya, you don't think that they are gonna stop. Though they always do.

Maybe that is just their way of thanking us for a great meal???
