A few simple ideas to make a bathroom look much better:

2.Replace Faucets, make them more updated.

3.Replace lighting fixtures, get the most of the natural lighting also.

4. For a a pedestal sink add fabric around the bottom for a fresh new look, match with your curtains.

5.Paint wood around any old mirrors with a rich wood look paint.

New flooring also helps an old outdated bathroom look new again. And dressing up the bathroom with throw rugs and matching toilet cover really sets things off.

A couple of matching candles on the countertop and matching soap dishes etc and voila you have a pretty decent looking bathroom.
