Default Homeade Decorations

What are some of the homemade decorations that you all have make to brighten up your home both inside and outside decorations??

I love drying flowers and making wreathes, baskets and other things to decorate with.

Right now I am in the middle of hand stitching a crazy quilt to hand on the wall. Well I did have to stop working on it for a bit because my neice is having a baby and I want to make a blanket for the baby.

Any way I know that there are millions of things that we can all make to decorate our homes with, I am hoping that you all can give me some new ideas because I am starting to run out of them.

Scary thought I know!!

I am on the look out for some empty paint cans. I want to turn them into decorative exterior candle holders. That was one new idea I read about here!! Gotta love this forum!!

I loved the empty paint can idea too. Thats one I will use.

I used to make stuff with the kids all the time but we are all to busy these days.

We have made all sorts of things that we have around the house. Wreathes, Christmas decorations and other stuff. We enjoy doing those things when we can.

Yeah it is a shame that it seems there is really never any time to get together with family to made things and spend time together. All anyone can do is when there is time to make good use of it.

Wish ya the best.

The idea with the paint cans is one that prevents the candles blowing out if you use it on the deck or in the yard, the can prevents the candles being knocked over and lowers the risk of a fire especially where there are animals or children. I like using them in the house when the electricity goes out if I have to light a candle because I have 2 nosey cats plus it prevents wax getting on the table or counter top or even the deck floor if used outside.

You can even write a childs name on the can and then add some decorations that the child would like to personalize the cans. Plus, i have plans to make one with a cabin and trees scene on it, which should be very pretty.

You could also sell them at a yardsale for say a dollar a piece for the cans with simple decorations or for a couple of dollars if the decorations on the can are more intricate.

For me I like to paint my planters with a design, to give them a look of me, not some store bought look.
