Holiday Crafts for Kids
PAPER REINDEER
The items you will need:
Large red pom-poms
Large plastic eyes
light brown or tan colored construction paper for the ears
brown construction paper
Any color construction paper if you wish to glue your reindeer to it.
To put your reindeer together first using the darker shade of brown, cut out the antlers of the reindeer and his face buy tracing your childs shoeprint and hand both hands.
The next step is to cut out the ears of the reindeer using the lighter shade of brown. Now glue the antlers together. Make sure they are at just a slight angle. Then glue on the ears. The head is glued on last. Once the head is glued on its time to add the eyes and your reindeers nose using the plastic eyes and the red pom-pom. Next add a smile to your reindeer with a black marker. There is your beautiful reindeer, to hang for the holidays.
CLAY REINDEER POTS
This is a great way to replace those name cards at dinner (if using rather small clay pots). If using the larger pots these make wonder christmas gifts by filling them with a variety of goodie treats.
To make the reindeer pot you will need:
Craft glue, or a glue stick
Scissors
Terracotta clay pots. 2 or 5 inch pots are best
Red pom-poms
Three different shades of craft paper or foam.
Now to creat your reindeer pot you take one shade of brown to cut out the antlers. If you are using a 5 inch pot, trace a childs hand. Then cut out the ears with another brown shade. Next attach the ears to the back side of the pot. Once the ears are placed glue on the antlers to the back side of the pot. Now to the front of the pot glue on your eyes and nose. Then fill with a variety of nuts , candy, or any other goodies you wish.

Get together an assortment of glitter, the more colors the better
Plastic food wrap, a large piece of cardboard, bottle of white glue, and either some yarn or ribbon to use as hangers.
Now take the plastic food wrap and take it to your cardboard. Be sure to make it as taut as possible with out ripping it, and secure it to the back of the cardboard with some tape. Next using the glue draw out the shapes of stars on your cardboard tray, you can also of course make other holiday shapes as well. Once you have your outline done, use the glue to fill in the shape completely. Next take your yarn or ribbon and make a loop. Stick the ends of your loop into the glitter completely. Sprinkle your shape with a glitter color of your choice. Allow your shapes when finished to dry for 24 hours. Then gently peel them off of the plastic wrap, and begin hanging your beautiful new decorations.
shapes on the plastic wrap with the glue bottle. Fill in the center with glue as well. You can also make other shapes like a bell, or a pine tree. If you plan on hanging or tying these stars attach a loop of yarn to the top of by putting it into the glue. Sprinkle the glue with glitter.
Make sure it is completely covered. Leave to dry for 48 hours. Gently peel the plastic wrap away from the back, working in from each point
