Halloween safety tips for all.
For all adults attending Halloween parties this year, be sure to have a designated driver if you are planning to drink alcoholic beverages. Or consider an overnight stay so that no one has to drive home.
Party hosts should have alternative transportation methods handy such as the telephone numbers for taxis, etc.
Check with your local towns to find out when their Trick or Treating will be and try to be very careful when driving during those times. Small children have broken away from parents and run into the street, so drive slowly during these times.
Adding reflective tape to costumes will help drivers see your little goblins, thus preventing accidents.
Make sure your little goblins masks and wigs do not obscure their vision. And make sure there is nothing on the costume that might cause the child to fall.
Make sure all little ghosts and goblins are accompanied by an adult at all times.
Give the ghosties and goblins their own flashlights to carry, as this will help them see better and be seen.
Watch your teenagers, some of them tend to play "car tag" during Halloween. This is when a group of teens get together and run across the road in front of oncoming traffic. This is a very dangerous practice on their part and hopefully nothing you will ever be confronted with.
So be sure to have a Safe and Happy Halloween.
