Default flowers suitable for dry & method used

Everyone loves flower arrangments Fresh flowers are my favorite but become expensive if bought every week. Dried flowers can be just as beautiful and will last a very long time. Below is a aritcle on flowers suitable for drying and the different methods used for drying.

Quote:
Collecting flowers for drying
Flowers and other plant materials for drying should be picked close to their prime. Flowers to be air-dried continue to open as they dry; therefore such flowers should not be fully open at picking. Never place wilted flowers into drying mixtures.

Flowers or leaves for drying may be collected at any time during the growing season from early spring until late fall. Always collect more material than is needed, to allow for damage. Use only the most perfect forms. Poor shapes dry as poor shapes.
Drying Flowers and Foliage for Arrangements

By David Trinklein

I have used Bachelor buttons and Baby's breath and cat-tails Queen Anne's lace and Strawflowers dried in arrangments and they look beautiful and still alive. My kids have done pressed flowers between tissue paper and wax paper and they were so pretty.

Thank you so much for the additional information. I
will of course be looking closely for different types
of folliage to add to my arrangements.
My table will love me for it. I would also like to make
a few for gifts for my daughters.

Dried flowers make beautiful wreath arrangements. My sister is very good with wreath arrangements. They are so beautiful and can be hung anywhere over a door on a door or just on a wall in the kitchen and living room or bathroom.. Have fun with your dry flowers.
