Default Dried Flowers

Drying flowers is easy and a great project for anyone and everyone.

Here are the materials that you will need to dry your own flowers at home.

First off you will need four different flowers that have 6-8 blossomes, leaves and stems.

Next gather up a grocery bag, newspaper, scissors, string, laundry rack or clothes closet rack, ruler, two 8" pieces of 1/2 inch wide ribbon and a couple of vases.

Cover your work area with the newspaper and begin sorting your flowers into bunches. Next tie pieces of string to each of the bunches- make sure its tight enough to hold the flowers together yet not so tight that it will cut into the stems.

Once your bunches are all tied up it is time to hang them to dry. Use the ends of the string to hang the flower in a warm and dry place blossoms down! Make sure they hang in an area where they will not be disturbed much or at all. Also make sure that the bunches are spaced enough to make drying easier. It will take about 4 weeks to dry which is the hardest part of the project.

After 4 weeks have passed and your flower bunches are dried it is time to take them down, untie them and as gently as possible arrange them as you want them in the vases.

Then tie the arrangements with a piece of string and snip off the ends of the string. Use the ribbon to cover the string and tie it into a bow and showcase your arrangements!!
