Default Decorating With A Theme in Mind

Most of us tend to decorate with a certain theme in mind. It can be different for each and every room of the house or the same all the way around. It is completely up to you. It depends on what your tastes are and many times simply what mood you are in.

History even plays a big role in decorating themes. English manor and french country are two examples. When you decorate with these themes, they bring to mind a certain era.

Colors are important when creating a theme. Understanding how colors create a theme is important when deciding what theme is best suited for your tastes.

Blue, white and tan together can represent the beach. Using these colors you can add seashells and nautical designs for that beach feel.

Bright and vibrant reds, yellows, blues, greens, purples and oranges together can create an english manor feel.

Earth tones mixed with deep shades of red, green and blue can give you that rustic cabin feel.

You can create a city chic style by using neutral colors such as beige, white or black throughout a space. The interest comes into the room with textures and materials.

Figure out what suites you the best and go with it. Don't be afraid to go away from what is normal for you. Try something different for a change.
