Default Artifical Flower Arrangements

It seems like everyone has some artifical flowers in the home some where. Some times they are faded or dusty and maybe they don't even match the area they are sitting in.

This can all be taken care of. First off get those flowers cleaned up. Wash them in warm soapy water, rinse well and place in drainer to dry well.

Once those flowers are dried you can either paint them, dye them with food coloring or even use markers to change the colors of the flowers so that they coordinate with the colors of the room you want them in.

Then it is just a matter of finding the perfect vase to display them in as well as finding the perfect place for them in the room.

This is just one of the most simple ways to dress up a room with what you already have in your home.

Another way to clean artificial flowers, especially silk ones, is to put them in a plastic bag with a cup of salt and shake them well.

Remove the fowers from the bag and shake off all excess salt. You wil be very surprised at just how cleab the flowers are and there will be no water spots from using the other method.

After cleaning you can use small drops of clear glue on the pedals to look like water drops for a look that is more real.

I have seen those artifical flowers with the glue drops on them and really I don't think it quite looks right. I guess I like the natural thing a whole lot better.

A lot of people like doing that with the flowers but I prefer just to have the flowers looking bright and beautiful. That looks great in my opinion.

I am glad that you mentioned the silk flowers. They can be hard to clean. I have only used the salt method once before and I was surprised at how well it actually cleans the flowers. I didn't think it would work but it sure does!

You can also use sand with the same method as the salt. It works just as well. I have done both.

Some artificial flowers should never be wet so you have to find alternative ways to clean them.

Believe it or not I don't have a single artificial flower in my house. I used but found that I just didn't have time to worry about keeping them clean so out they went! One less dust collector! lol
