Default Accessories on the cheap.

Do you need new accessories but dont have a lot of money to spend on them? Well, second hand shops can be the answer to your accessory problem.

Maggie and I went to a second hand shop today that I had never been to before and I was amazed while looking around. The merchandise was in excellent shape, well displayed and the prices certainly were right.

Here are a few things I found that could be used to accessorize your home.

Two gold based lamps with shades for $5 each. These would be great on bedside tables as they were just the right size and the color would fit into just about any decorating scheme.

I found a couple designer vases, the larger one was $10, the smaller one was $3 and both were similar enough in color that they could be used together on any stand or mantle piece.

How about a new dinner set? I found one that was ivory and black with silver trim. A service for 6 for only $30 and this service would have cost about $150 new. Great price for used, undamaged dinner service and with the holidays coming up, your table will be the talk of dinner guests.

I found a great set of candle holders for $2 in black wrought iron. These could be used as part of your centerpiece during the holidays.

Art work ran about $5 to $7 for large very tastefully done pictures that could be used in any room.

Accessorizing your home doesnt have to cost you the proverbial arm and leg and can be very tastefully done for just a few dollars if you just get out there and look around.

Most of the stuff in a good second hand shop is just stuff that the owners either didnt have room for or just got tired of and most had been well cared for. So get out there and look. You will be very pleasantly surprised at what you will find.
