Default Real Estate agent opening property, even though I have a deposit on it?

Is it possible for a agent to continue to show a property if it is already under contract. The resoan I ask is because I recently went under contract with a property, and I receive a message from the agent telling me that he is showing the property to other potential buyers next week.

Default

I'm not that familiar with the rules regarding that. From a personal stand point, if you have placed a deposit he should have removed it from the market.

Default deposit on property

Yes it is believe it or not you may have given a deposit on property but he can still show it he just lines up potential buyer if your loan for the property falls thru and you should get you deposit back i know it seems like it should be off the market because of the deposit hopefully you get approved and the property is yours good luck

Default Deposit

I believe hometown is correct. You should check into the law however. I feel your frustration but I don't think they can sell out from under you unless your loan is denied.

This does not seem right but the only thing you can do is check the local laws.

Did you ever find an answer and did you close your deal yet. I am just curious this has had me a little concerned.

Unfortunate its true Until you sign the final papers they can continue to show the property.. The home that I own now was under contract when they showed it to us and they were unable to secure their loan so we bought it.. I know that it seems backstapish but they are there to find a buyer.. I hope that everything goes well for you.
