Default More on the Foreclosure Mess

You guys have heard about all of the alleged fraudulent foreclosure practices and all of that going on I am sure. Well I just heard that some attorneys from some of the biggest companies had been producing fraudulent foreclosure documents and in exchange they received lavish gifts and company rewards.

Quote:
According to a sworn deposition released by McCollum's office, Cheryl Salmons, the operations manager at the Florida law firm of David J. Sterns, signed off on as many as a thousand foreclosure files per day.
In the deposition, Salmons' former assistant, Kelly Scott, also claimed the law firm rewarded her boss with vacations, jewelry, and a new BMW SUV.

"She doesn't review [the documents]. She just looks," Scott said in her deposition. "She would just sign all of them."
They literally kicked people out of their homes and put them out on the streets so that they could gain jewelry and cars! Unbelievable!

Quote:
Scott and Kapusta said documents were backdated, signatures were not witnessed, and a notary stamp was passed around for general use -- all in an effort to keep up with a tidal wave of foreclosure filings.
What is wrong with people????

For jewelry and cars? Thats a shame when most people that do these foreclosures only see a piece of paper in front of them and dollar signs or whatnot and dont take into consideration that these are peoples lives they are signing away.

These are families with children that are being kicked out of their homes with no where to go and all these signers care about is their new car, or jewlery or cash? That is a sad state of affairs and for someone to be that selfserving should be a crime.

All of these foreclosures should be overturned and these families recompensated for their loss. Give them back their homes and their self respect and most of all, give back that damned car and jewlry and other stuff that was given to these signers.

I agree--but people who lost their homes to foreclosure shouldn't expect to get their homes back. A settlement, absolutely--they should be compensated for the value lost, the moving fees, maybe even pain, suffering, and credit crashing. The homes, however, are gone. New families have moved into them and have started lives in them, and have started repairing and improving them. The foreclosure situation is a sticky, sticky mess that affects more than just the people who lost their homes, and I certainly hope the judges involved come up with a solution that will suit everyone involved--and that includes a just punishment for those responsible.
