Loan companies contacting home owners.

In the last 4 months, I have recieved a significant amount of phone calls about changing my mortgage company, getting a loan for improvements, etc.

Now, I am starting to get letters in the mail stating that we have been pre-approved for a home loan based on the equity in the home itself.

Do be aware that these are usually fly by night companies and not safe at all to deal with.

The 800 phone number to stop telemarketers is 1-888-382-1222. Do be aware that it can take up to 30 days to go into effect, and I have been informed that it also works for your cell phone.

As to the letters, the best place for them is in the trash.

I agree! I throw those in the trash too! I have been getting a lot of phone calls as well. I usually don't answer them, but this one place was calling me twice a day for at least a month!! I ended up answering it and told him I was not interested and to stop call here. Having had a call since.

Now, on top of the letters and phone calls, I am starting to get a lot of emails on the same subject.
