Default Homebuyers Tax Credit Extended

Great news for any of you who missed the deadline to get the homebuyers tax credit of $8,000. It has been extended until September 30th. Buyers have until then to close on their purchases.

The Senate passed the bill for the extension late Wednesday and President Obama is expected to sign it.

Quote:
The bill doesn't help anyone currently shopping for a home. Buyers must have signed a contract by April 30 to qualify for the tax break. At issue is when the deal must be finalized.
Qualified existing homeowners also have until Sept. 30 to close on new homes and receive a tax credit of up to $6,500.
I had just posted something about people trying to scam the system to get the credit even though their deals were not completed in time for the credit. Maybe now they can actually get the credit legally.
