Default Fixing the Real Estate Market

We all know and have discussed at length the things that have caused the housing market to fail. I am wondering though if anyone has any ideas on what needs to be done to make it right again?

What would you do to fix it?

One minute it seems like it is getting better and then we hear something else altogether.

I honestly don't know what to do. I wouldn't really know where to begin.

One thing I guess that I do know is that the government need not spend billions of more dollars trying to fix it. Been there - done that. Same results.

What do you think?

Default Re: Fixing the Real Estate Market

My personal opinion is that we need jobs and better paying ones. If people dont have jobs, they dont have money and therefore cant make their monthly payments.

We used to be considered a land of plenty and now all we have is plenty of unemployed people. Which of course has a huge impact on the real estate market and every other aspect of our lives.

Then on top of that, you have the people in the banks etc that just sign the foreclosure notes so that they can get the most to get new cars, vacations, etc and we have a total lose, lose situation.

The cost of living now is so high that it takes both people in a marriage to work just to do what has to be done. And theres very little left over for extras.

So I think jobs or the lack thereof is the biggest part of the housing problem.
