Three whole years? Geez.

What we need is another FDR in the White House. Seriously.

That does seem like quite a stretch. But I do know that this year has been harder on all because of rising prices in oils, in food and many other cost of living areas. I can imagine how hard it is for some people to just get by this winter.

If rising oil prices continue and the economy continuing to struggle I would suspect that 2010 might be very optimistic. I do think it will turn around but the biggest question would be when. I've seen several new subdivisions and condo communities collecting dust due to a struggling market.

Yes, I agree with your points, and I'm sure that some of the external problems faced by our country would still have happened even if someone other than the current President were in the Oval Office. But some of the instability in the oil-producing areas are a result of our foreign policy.

As for FDR's second incarnation, I don't care which party he's from. Republican, Democrat, or Independent...heck, even Libertarian. Anyone will do as long he/she restores confidence in our institutions to some achievable level.

We sure need someone to put it all back on the right track. It seems to me that there is a lot of emphasis put on unimportant stuff and the really important things just get shoved under the carpet.
