Default Rental Prices by state.

I am blown away by how cheap rents are in other states!..i think i need to move out of state, and soon..

I live in CT> and the going price for a 2bedroom is between 8 and 9 hundred with nothing included.

then i look at Michigan, Pennsylvannia , Wyoming..etc..and i see "Houses" for rent cheaper!...i saw a 3 bedroom house, with nice yard, good area, and heat included for 450$...loll..omg!

take a stroll around the internet and i can not beleive the difference in prices. DOes anyone know if pay rates are very much lower in these states?? cost of living lower..so maybe jobs pay less???

i would love to get info on this, and which states are the cheapest on rents and housing and compare the job rate and pays.

Red face Re: Rental Prices by state.

I'm not sure if I can put together any kind of comprehensive report on this for you, but I wil look into it, and see if there is any information available to use.

I know in my area of Ohio, rent is a lot cheaper than what is in your area, but at this time, jobs here are getting more and more scarce, with a lot of our steel plants and other mill work now gone. Though if a decent job can be found, the cost of living is a lot less expensive than in other areas as well.

Give me a couple days, and I'll see if I can find you an answer!!

Check this out:

http://www.realtor.org/research/research/metroprice

The average existing home in my area is around $100,000. The house I live in is a 4 bedroom 2 bath, 1,800 sq ft, full basement, attached two car garage and we payed $90,000 for it. Put this house in San Diego and it's a $600,000 house all day. Put it in Detroit, MI, and it's a $70,000 house. Location location location.

Pat, this may help you. I Googled "cost of living state by state" and it took me to a site that did comparisons as to not only the cost of living, but real estate, etc. Hope it helps!!

Jared, thanks for your input........that's a great help!!
I should have thought to say that, lol.

There is great information at that site missmanors, great tip!

Jared, I agree with ya, location, location, location lol!

It is amazing how drastically prices change for homes and apartments from state to state and even city to city. Also, wages are drastically different as are the costs for items in stores. I would definitely do a lot of research before making a move.
