I never knew that if you have a joint tenancy on your title, either you or you spouse could tranfer ownership of their share without the others permission. I believe this could rise a lot of legal issues if this was to happen.

This thread has been an eye opener. I didn't know that joint tenancy was that bad. I am still working on my living will. It has been something that I have been taking for granted but I have to get it done.

Default Pro and Cons of owning a home as joint tenants

well this has be a wealth of information. I really don't know how I am put on the Deed. But I do know that I am not a Joint Tenent I'll have to look into that..

The idea that survivorship is already taken care of thrills me to no end. All I can say is that I hope this covers kids and inlaws as if my husband was to pass I need to know that my home is mine and protected from greedy others.
