Default Helping Tenants

There was a rental property in my area that the owener was having a real hard time keeping and eventually I did see a for sale sign in the yard of the home.

This made me feel bad for those renting the house because they were very nice people and never had a problem with the landlord and they were worried what was going to happen to them because the house they were paying a very low rent which is something that they needed, and other rentals in the area were just to high priced.

Though I guess everyone's fears were a waste of time, because the lady who purchased the rental property decided after meeting the people renting the home to allow them to continue renting the home and for the same price.

There are a few things that need to be done to the house. Just some small minor repairs that need to be made and the new owner is talking to the tenants of the house and made a deal that if the tenants make the repairs to the house she will deduct those costs from their rent.

She has even added this to the new rental agreement that was drawn up at the suggestion from both parties. I think that this is all going to work out well and that is something that we don't get to see very often anymore.

Thankfully there are still some really nice people in this world even when times are so hard on many of us.

It is so unusual to hear about landlords that do make the offer to tenants that if they do the work etc that it will be taken off their rent. Too many times the landlord will say this but then when it comes time to take it off the rent, it just doesnt happen.

It is great to hear that this stipulation was actually put into writing which protects both the tenant that is doing the work and the landlord. Putting this in the rental agreement doesnt happen often enough.

Kudos to honest, caring landlords and landladys.

I agree it is nice hearing about something good happening between a landlord/lady and a tenant. Which is why I wanted to share the story with everyone.

I wish this kind of stuff would happen more often, but sadfully it just doesn't.

I know that if I were a landlady I would do my best to work with those renting from me, as long as of coure they weren't being distructive and so on.

If they were decent tenants then I would do my best to make sure that I kept them renting from me.

What is sad is when you hear of a landlord/lady that tells the tenant that if they do the repairs it will be taken off their rent and then they dont keep their word.

There are a lot of people that are destructive when renting and I feel bad for the owners of the property when that happens. But then on the other hand, I really feel bad for tenants that do do the repairs, and do them correctly and are then cheated out of the credit.

A really good, working relationship between landlords/ladies, is very hard to come by, so its always great to see when these things do work out.

Most people are just out for themselves these days. They don't care about anyone else and the struggles they may be going through. It's good to hear that there are people out there who do really care about other people.

Kudos to her and maybe karma will come back around and she will hit the lottery or something!
