Default Consider Renting

With the housing market in the slump right now, perhaps you should consider renting out a home instead of selling. You can rent out an entire home, or even part of your home to get some tax breaks.

With mortgage payments rising and home values falling, what's a homeowner to do? Rent out the home, or get roommates.

The same advice holds true for homeowners who need to move for their job and for people who have inherited a house in a locale where property values have declined to the point where putting the home on the market doesn't make sense.

This sounds like it could be the answer for some people that need some income from a home, but can't seem to sell in this market, or can't get what the home is worth. My worry would be what renters would do to the home while living in it, especially if the home and homeowner are located very far from each other.
