Default Repairing Carpet

Anyone know of any videos on how to repair carpet that are torn??

While moving some furniture this morning my old man slid a dresser across the room and well lets just say there is now a pretty good slice in the carpeting.

I am hoping that there is a way to fix this with out having to replace the entire carpet.

That is something that we really don't want to do right now. There are to many other projects we are wanting to get done right now and this isn't in the budget just yet.

So if anyone has any ideas or hopefully a video on how to deal with this mess I sure would appreciate it!!

I have no idea what to do about a slice in the carpet. I know you can fix a burn hole such as caused with a cigarette ash by simply shaving just a bit of the top of the carpet pile surrounding the area and actually gluing the shavings in the hole. It works like magic. You can't tell anything was even wrong.

Sorry about the slice. Hopefully someone will have a solution. In the meantime, I'd place a throw rug over it so that it doesn't become worse by walking on it or whatever.

Hate to say it but the carpet is being replaced. There aren't really any ways to fix a torn rug. Because of this some of my plans I had for Spring have been changed or planned for next year because if we are going to replace the carpeting we are going to do it right and get something that is going to last for a long time and has a warrenty.

I wish we didn't have to do this yet, but oh well things happen. The carpet is going to be replaced next week so we only have to deal with it being torn for a little while longer.

Any way the carpeting that we picked out is going to look soooo much better!!!

You could use double sided tape to fix the carpet. To use it, clean the floor underneath the tear to make sure it is free of dust and dirt, put the tape down, then pull the carpet towards the other torn side and press down.

Then pull the remaining side towards the other torn repaired side, and fluff the carpet with your hand and you shouldnt even be able to tell the tear is there.

By the way, double sided tape is tape that is sticky on both sides so that it adheres to the floor and to the bottom of the torn carpet.
