Default Kitchen Cabinet Makeover

I was watching one of the shows that does room makeovers for just a limited amount of money, and the room in question was the kitchen. Of course with such a limited budget to work with, the cabinets could not be replaced. It was decided that they would paint the cabinets, but they wanted paint that could stand up to a lot of wear and tear and cleaning products.

They ended up using boat paint for this project, and those cabinets really looked brand new when they were finished. The boat paint goes on so smoothly and looks so sleek when dry. The paint costs more than normal household paint, but I think it would really be worth the extra cost and would cost much less than replacing the cabinets or even refacing them. I looked up boatpaint on a couple of sites and found that it costs anywhere from $30. to $95 a quart, but only a small amount is needed to cover the cabinets.

If I ever need to paint my kitchen cabinets, I'm definitely going to try this paint. After all, if it holds up on a boat, it will stand up to anything I can throw at it in my kitchen!

It does sound like a good idea to use that kind of paint. I just wonder how easy it would be to paint over them if you ever wanted to. I wonder if you would have to rough it up first or just paint over it. But you know, I looked at my cabinets and they look horrible. They really need something done to them. Thank you for the idea.
