Default How to do the old fashioned plaster walls.

I have been curious about this for sometime. I had once considered purchasing a victorian home that still had these walls.

The walls were damaged and that upset me as I did not want to have to put up drywall.

Drywall is nice but the old walls are stronger and more durable.

The video gives you all of the information that you will need to do these walls yourself.

It takes time to do them but I believe the end result is well worth the effort.

I never knew how those old plaster walls were done, though it looks amazing when its all finished.

I agree it really would be much stronger than the drywall that is in most homes today including mine.

Comming this summer we plan on completely tearing our bedroom apart and redoing it all. We are taking the room down to the studs and even redoing the wiring in the room, insulation and the whole nine yards. I just wonder if plastering the walls would be possible with out adding a great deal of extra money.

This is something that we are going to have to look into, because plans are as of right now to simply put up drywall when all the other work is done. Though the plaster would proably last alot longer than the drywall would.

Thanks for giving us another course of action to consider on the job ahead of us. The more choices that we have the better off we can plan the job and future of our home.

Thats the kind of walls that are in my house. It is a lot better than drywall until you have to tear it out! If you ever thought drywall was messy to tear out think again. These walls are way messier lol! We had to tear out a section along the chimney because it needed re-mortared. Oh I swear I am still dealing with the mess of it. But as I said above, they are way better than drywall as far as durability and all that.
