Additionally, you should have working smoke detectors with up-to-date batteries throughout the house to warn you in the event of an electrical fire.
Checking into the electrical system of a home before you buy will save you a great deal of trouble later on. Rewiring the electrical system of a house takes time and money. If the house is your dream house then go for it. However, if you are looking for a good investment that you can sell at a profit, buying a house with an already stable electrical system is key.
